The color of Love

Five years ago this month my husband and I bought our first house. I love our house and over the past five years we have slowwwwwwwly made a few changes. The most drastic change was last fall when we finally got around to replacing some siding pieces and repainting the house. But I did not want to just paint it boring white, no no, not the girl who does not have one white wall in her house. So my husband agreed to let me, I mean him, paint it a different color. I found an inspiration photo about 2 yrs ago of a green house with black shutters and fell in love.
I debated on the shade of color via paint chips, but never actually picked a which one, and even researched the paint we wanted to use. Well one Thursday night my husband announced that his friend would be at our house in the morning to start painting. "WHAT!?!?! You haven't help me picked the right color shade". I was in a panic to say the least. My husband is very indecisive on picking a color and told just to pick one and he would be happy. I was not so sure. Painting walls on the inside of your house is one things because no body can see them unless you invite them in, but painting the outside the wrong color could be my biggest decorating disaster yet.
So I head to Lowe's pulled out the first color chip in my wallet and told them to get mixing. I was in a cold sweat and talking a mile a minute to the poor guy at the paint counter. But it all worked out perfectly. Antonio showed up the next day with his airless spray painter and had my house painted in less then 10 hours. The cost to have him paint was 1 night lodging (at our house), meals, $200 for gas, and the cost of the paint.
I still get excited when I drive up to my house, I just love how it turned out!

Here are a couple of BEFORE photos

The the AFTER photos

This was the only part I got to do.

Isn't it amazing what a bit of paint can do? There's definition in the white framing. The right shade, for certain. Makes it almost float above the green yard. A good selection of colors and a job well done. Congratulations.

That's beautiful! (How did you DO that? -- colors never look the same on a wall as they do on a swatch. We have a periwinkle purple house that was supposed to be blue-gray. And yes, it's the color of love.) :o)

I love your "new Home!!" You did a great job.

I kind of know how you feel. I have always been a "white wall" person but just recently with the help and I might add with some or maybe a lot of inspiration from two of my Granddaughters, I let them paint our dinning room ,RED! We have not got everything finished in it yet but I really think that we are going to love it and really enjoy our time there and not just for food but for the atmosphere!! haha.

love you,connie
