My Mom's Quilt

Yesterday I posted about a contest to win a quilt over at http://pigtailsandsnails.blogspot.com and today I found a picture of my mom's latest quilt. This is a very special quilt because it will probably be her last one. My mom has Parkinson's and may not be able to continue quilting much longer. This quilt is being left to my 11 yr old nephew after my parents are gone. Mom made my brother and I both quilts when we got married, so that is why this one is for Laine since my mom will not be able to make him a special wedding quilt.
My dad has really gotten into quilting with my mom, no not actually sewing but pick out designs, colors, and specific material. I think this is her best quilt yet. I think she still has a few more in her and is not ready to stop quilting. Mom likes her quilt so much that we redecorated her bedroom, hence the wall color and border.

I hope you are all having a wonderful day. I will be back later today to post about my surgery this summer.

That's a beautiful quilt and I'm sure a lot of love went into making it.

That's great that your dad takes an interest in helping her out. :)

Carrie,
Thanks for your entry for my give-a-way.

It's nice to 'meet' you! You have a beautiful blog and that quilt that your mom made is so lovely! And can you believe that give-a-way at pigtails and snails? Wow!!

Have a great Sunday!
