I have a really hard time believing that is was 5 yrs ago today I lost one of my best friends, biggest supporters, and most faithful prayer warrior. My Grammy passed away on Thanksgiving night after a battle with Alzheimers.
That Thanksgiving was a very different than any other. I got to reconnect with several family members who live in other parts of the country. I got to hear their stories and memories of this precious lady.
My precious Grammy is the reason I was raised in a christian home. You see when my parents married my mom was saved but not in the Lord's will and my daddy was unsaved former catholic who loved to read. My Grammy would leave tracts all over her house and my daddy loved to read so much that he would read just about anything. Finally after read enough tracts he was under conviction and saw his need for salvation. I have a lot to thank my Grammy for and I am so glad that the Lord saw fit to put me in her family. I miss her very much but I know without a doubt I will see her again one day.

What a wonderful witness your Grammy was. And what a blessing it was for her to see the results of that witness. Sometimes it is the quiet, simple witness of daily living that brings our loved ones to His grace. Some day you may sit with her by that pure river of water of life proceeding out of the throne of God, under the tree of life. Perhaps we can sit there together for a million years or so and tell of His love! Until then, enjoy this Thanksgiving with the blessings she left you, and that He gives us each day.
How blessed to have a grammy that gifted you with the knowledge of the Lord. How pleased she would be to see you not spending your Thanksgiving mourning her loss but being Thankfull. That is a gift to her. I am sorry you had to work today (the day after Thanksgiving) unlike me who got to nap all day but will probably be up all night because I am not sleepy. :)

Carrie,
This was the first Thanksgiving without my mom. I understand how you feel. I too know I will see her again in Heaven. God bless you my friend.
Come on over to Seeking Grace for my birthday-give-away and enter in.
God bless you.
